Show Your Back Some Love with Spring Creek

Before you start diving into scheduling with a chiropractor, you need to understand one thing: there’s a difference between working harder and working smarter. Just like you would research the best foods to buy for your kids before making dinner, you want to establish an understanding of the source of your pain and what can be done to help. With that understanding, you can rest assured that your back is being taken care of.

So, where does your back pain come from?

Understanding how chiropractic medicine works begins with a basic understanding of the human nervous system. Nerves extend from between these vertebrae and transfer messages throughout the body. When the spine is perfectly aligned, these nerves can send messages without interference. Sometimes a vertebra will get pulled out of alignment. This can happen after an accident, at birth, because of poor posture or even from stress and tension. When the vertebrae are not aligned correctly, they pinch the nerves that they should be protecting. This causes the messages the brain is sending to the body to encounter interference, causing the body to function improperly. Chiropractors call this misalignment of the vertebrae “subluxation.” The goal of Chiropractic Medicine is locating these subluxations and putting the vertebrae back in position.

Here’s what Dr. Garvert has to say about what we do:

“So a chiropractor just cracks my back?”

Not even close. When you visit Spring Creek, you’re getting much more than a freshly cracked back. Focusing on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, chiropractic therapy is used to treat back pain, neck pain, tissue injury, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, headaches and injuries resulting from auto accidents (just to name a few!). These conditions are treated by our in-house chiropractor, Dr. Steven Garvert, D.C., through a variety of methods including spinal decompression, physio and manual therapy, and therapeutic and rehabilitative exercise. Dr. Garvert also has broad diagnostic skills and provides nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling. Dr. Garvert treats patients from Logan to Providence and all over Cache Valley.

We are confident that our services will get you feeling better than ever!
